School Days, School Daze The First Day of School |

It’s the end of summer (sort of) so schools are starting back up for the fall semester. Madison County began its session August 3, and Henderson County, which is on a four-quarter flex schedule, started its first quarter session July 11. But Asheville, Buncombe County, and McDowell County all open their doors during the next two weeks.
If you have a child entering school this year, check the schedules, contact your school if you haven’t already done so, get your child’s vaccinations done (see chart at right), and get ready for the 2006 school daze!
First day of school:
Asheville City - August 16
Buncombe County - August 17
Madison County - August 3
McDowell County - August 25
Henderson County - July 11*
*Henderson County is on a four-quarter “Flex Schedule.”
