 Registration ONGOING
Asheville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts, Buncombe County Parks and Recreation Services, and Black Mountain Recreation and Parks invite area seniors to participate in the 2008 Asheville-Buncombe Senior Games May 8 through May 13.
The kick-off event will be at Lake Tomahawk in Black Mountain on May 8 and will conclude with a Silver Arts Showcase and Awards Ceremony on May 13 at Lakeview Center in Black Mountain.
Senior Games is an
exciting health and fitness program for adults age 55 and over,
including a wide range of activities designed for individuals at
various fitness levels. Activities include track and field events,
croquet, horseshoes, golf, tennis, basketball, badminton, table tennis,
billiards, cycling, bowling, and swimming. The top competitors in each
category will be eligible to go to the State Games in Raleigh.
Silver Arts is a statewide arts program that celebrates the accomplishments of Buncombe County’s senior artists.
