Friday, 12 September 2008

The Asheville Transit System (ATS) will provide public transportation services to the NC Mountain State Fair. “This is a great way for people to experience the fair without having to deal with traffic, parking, or higher gas bills,” said Mariate Echeverry, ATS Interim Transit Manager.

Route #6, which starts at Main Transit Center in downtown Asheville, has been extended to service the WNC Agricultural Center for the event. Fare is $1.00 per person each way. People wishing to ride the #6 can board at any bus stop along its regular route. Route maps are available at www.ashevillenc.gov/transit. The time table is as follows: #6 leaves downtown Asheville at 8:30 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. #6 returns to downtown Asheville, from the NC Mountain State Fair, at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. There will be no Sunday bus service.
