She said he had a smile — and it was love at, well... first song.

from staff reports

The evening Tony and JoAnn met, she was performing with the jazz ensemble the Communicators, while he was there for a meeting. As he waited, he wondered about the lead singer, and decided he had to meet her. And meet they did! So much that they’ve been together ever since, as SouthernSilk Duo.

Their interpretive jazz and contemporary pop genre of music will take you on a memorable musical journey through the sounds of such balladeers as Nat King Cole, George Benson, Stevie Wonder, and Elvis Presley to the silky, sultry voices of Diana Washington, Billie Holiday, Dionne Warwick, Roberta Flack, and Gladys Knight.

SouthernSilk Duo performs Tuesday through Saturday, from 6-10 p.m. at Decades Restaurant, 81 Broadway in downtown Asheville.
