Sheriff’s Office to Hold Citizens’ Academy – Register Now E-mail

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office will host a free Citizens’ Academy for Buncombe residents only beginning April 21. The ten-week presentation will cover all aspects of the Sheriff’s work so citizens can gain a better understanding of the work the Sheriff’s Office does.




Each class will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings beginning April 21. The Academy will end on June 23 with a graduation ceremony. Only 25 applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration deadline is 4:30 p.m. on April 6. Slots are exprected to fill quickly.

Sheriff’s Department deputies will lead the academy. Classes will be held at the Crime Prevention office at 150 Westwood Place, in Asheville. Directions will be provided at the time of registration.
