The City of Asheville and UNC-Asheville have agreed to suspend Route 3 the Bulldog Express during the summer. This suspension is due to reduction in ridership once the academic year ends. Route 3 will be suspended beginning Sunday, May 10, until freshmen orientation around August 13.   

The Bulldog Express operates on Friday and Saturday nights and provides service from and to UNC Asheville and the neighborhoods and businesses along Merrimon Ave to downtown, terminating in Prichard  Park.  Ridership for the Bulldog Express has seen a 26% increase from August-March 2008 to August-March 2009.
