The Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival will return to Asheville on Friday, October 23 at UNC Asheville. The festival will feature a series of short environmental films from around the world on topics including: global environmental justice, the impact of energy production, inspiring youth activists and the struggle to keep water affordable right here in theUSA.

Clean Water for North Carolina (CWFNC), the statewide environmental justice nonprofit, and UNCA’s Student Environmental Center are partnering with “350.org” to encourage people to participate in an international day of climate action in Asheville on Saturday, October 24. Asheville City Council member Robin Cape, known for her commitment to the regions environment, especially her efforts to move Asheville to a more sustainable water and energy future, will serve as emcee for the event.

CWFNC is partnering with UNC Asheville’s Student Environmental Center, which works to increase awareness surrounding environmental issues and improving the environmental performance of UNCA.

The Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival takes place at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 23, at UNC-Asheville. Tickets are $10 or $5 (with student ID) and are available the at UNCA Student Environmental Center office (Highsmith Union), Diamond Brand Outdoors (Arden), and Clean Water for NC (29 ½ Page Ave., downtown Asheville).
